I've come across a minor flaw in the excellent knot that Knop is.

If I move out of a form view and into the list view connected to the
same database object then the lock placed on the record is removed
using this code:

$dTest -> (clearlocks: -user=$activeUserName);

But if I move directly to another module like a listview for $dParty
then the lock placed on the $dTest record remains.

Would be nice with some way of dealing with locks so that any lock
set for a specific user is removed when not needed anymore. A lock
table? A variable in a session? A small "tomte" that keeps track of
all locks?
