With the update to BBEdit 9.6, I had a crash on launch. In case
you have the same issue, I have attached it.

You must do the following after updating and quitting BBEdit:

(1) Backup this file and remove it (you can select the
application icon for BBEdit, right-click, and show contents to
get into the directories):
/Applications/BBEdit.app/Contents/Language Modules/Lasso.bblm

(2) Put the attached file here:
~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit/Language Modules/Lasso.bblm

(3) Restart BBEdit.
